Immunoassay Core

The Immunoassay (IA) Core Laboratory of Washington University School of Medicine supports diabetes research of internal and external investigators. The IA Core Lab performs a wide range of hormone and metabolite assays.

Assays offered include:

  • Human Insulin (RIA & CHEMILUMINESCENCE)
  • Human C-peptide (RIA & CHEMILUMINESCENCE)
  • Human Growth Hormone (RIA & CHEMILUMINESCENCE)
  • Cortisol (RIA & CHEMILUMINESCENCE)
  • Human IGF-1 (CHEMILUMINESCENCE ONLY)
  • Human Leptin (RIA ONLY)
  • Human Ghrelin (RIA ONLY)
  • Human Glucagon (RIA ONLY)
  • Human Pancreatic Polypeptide (RIA ONLY)
  • Rat/Mouse Insulin (RIA & ELISA)
  • Human Estradiol (ultra-sensitive RIA)
  • Salivary Cortisol (RIA)
  • Glucose (SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC)

Epinephrine, Norepinephrine and Free Fatty Acid analysis are also available from an associated core laboratory. Please contact the laboratory director for special requests or questions. The IA Core Laboratory is a CLIA-licensed facility through the College of American Pathologist (CAP). Consultative services and training are also provided.
