Administrative Core

The Administrative Core is responsible for allocation and oversight of the DRTC resources in accordance with the guidelines of the NIDDK and the University.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing the needs of our members and allocating available funds to various cores to facilitate basic, clinical, and translational research.
  • Solicitation, review, and selection of projects for the DRTC PFP.
  • Monitoring progress and mentoring recipients of Pilot & Feasibility Awards to aid in career development and success with outside funding.
  • Planning and conducting an Enrichment Program.
  • Maintenance of the DRTC website that serves our members, as well as the diabetes research community and the public at large.
  • Ensuring proper and seamless integration of the WU DRTC website with the NIDDK center program website.

Now celebrating its 30th year, the DRTC continues to bring together and foster the development of investigators from varied basic, clinical, and behavioral research backgrounds. This cooperative effort enhances and extends the effectiveness of research and training in the diabetes field at Washington University.
